The Next Chapter 7th-12th Grade

Ahead of Yom Ha’Shoa which is observed in May, we invite you to participate in this program specifically curated for teens.

A close look at the rarely-covered aspects of the Holocaust, beginning with the liberation of the camps and ending with a contemporary look at what we have failed to learn and what is possible in a post-survivor world.

1. Liberation. Allied forces discover the concentration camps in Germany, and survivors struggle to continue on with life without their families.
2. The Righteous Among the Nations. Non-Jews who risked their lives and the lives of their families to save Jews during the war are featured here, as well as the qualifications for the honor of Righteous by Israel.
3. Justice: The Post-war Trials. In this session, we will discuss the Nuremberg Trials, the term genocide, and those who succeeded in evading captivity and punishment.
4. The Capture and Trial of Adolf Eichmann. Adolf Eichmann, the Nazi high command officer in charge of deportations, escapes justice and changes his name. Many Holocaust survivors consider his capture, trial, and execution the moment the Holocaust ended.
5. Denial and Modern-Day Antisemitism. Dr. Deborah Lipstadt defends the Holocaust in a landmark trial. Modern-day antisemitism continues despite lessons from the Holocaust. What have we learned from it? How can we do better?
