Hebrew Adults Level 1

The course is taught in English. It is intended for students who do not speak Hebrew and who are unable to read and write Hebrew.
The sessions are held once a week for 60 minutes and will focus on learning Hebrew while emphasizing the development of linguistic abilities, including speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Throughout the course, students will be exposed to vocabulary and content from Israeli culture.

Participants will receive tasks to practice at home and will be given assignments for maximum assimilation of the material covered in class.

In the course, we will learn:

Reading and writing: letters of print and script (vowels and consonants) ie: Hebrew punctuation
Personal nouns in singular and plural
Basic vocabulary – enriching the student’s knowledge with vocabulary that is relevant and close to everyday life and Israel.
Male and female nouns, singular and plural

Syntax and morphology:
Question words (where, who, what, from where)
Implicit pronoun (this, that, these)
Use of linking words
Building basic sentences (indicative sentences + question)
Exposure to the known God
Place name + yes/no
Random numbers

The verb system:
present tense of basic verb
Games and daily communication
