  My Story

  Sheryl Silver Ochayon holds a law degree from Harvard Law School, a BA in History from the State University of New York at Binghamton, and a Certificate in Genocide Studies from Stockton University. After a long legal career, she followed her passion for Holocaust education. In 2005 she began working for the International School for Holocaust Studies at Yad Vashem as a guide in the Holocaust history Museum, writing and developing online courses for educators around the world, and creating educational videos.

  Currently, Sheryl is Yad Vashem’s Program Director for Echoes & Reflections, a program that empowers American middle and high school educators to confidently teach the Holocaust with dynamic classroom materials and professional development. Sheryl has represented Yad Vashem in different contexts both in the US and in Israel at seminars and international conferences, and at the United Nations.

  שריל סילבר אוחיון היא בעלת תואר במשפטים מבית הספר למשפטים בהרווארד, תואר ראשון בהיסטוריה מאוניברסיטת המדינה של ניו יורק בבינגהמטון, ותעודה בלימודי רצח עם מאוניברסיטת סטוקטון.

  לאחר קריירה משפטית ארוכה, עקבה אחר התשוקה לחינוך השואה. היא החלה לעבוד בבית הספר הבינלאומי להוראת השואה ביד ושם, המרכז העולמי להנצחת השואה.
  בשנת 2005, כשהיא הדריכה במוזיאון לתולדות השואה, כתבה ופיתחה קורסים מקוונים לאנשי חינוך ברחבי העולם ויצרה סרטונים חינוכיים. נכון להיום, שריל היא מנהלת התכנית ECHOES & REFLECTIONS של יד ושם, תכנית המעצימה מחנכים אמריקאים בחטיבות הביניים והתיכונים ללמד בביטחון את השואה, עם חומרים דינמיים לכיתה ופיתוח מקצועי.

  שריל ייצגה את יד ושם בהקשרים שונים הן בארה”ב והן בישראל בסמינרים ובכנסים בינלאומיים ובאו”ם.
