  My Story

  Mirit Balkan, a mom of 3, arrived in Cleveland a decade ago from Israel. Mirit is teaching with the “Bishvil Ha-Ivrit” program at @Akiva School in Cleveland. She brings with her over twenty years of experience in group facilitation with expertise in conflict transformation and peace building. Mirit worked at The Yitzhak Rabin Center and Gilo Center for Civic Society and Democracy in Israel and served as a program manager at The Jewish Federation of Cleveland. She represented IAC as a mentor and facilitator of the ‘Gvanim’ Community Leadership Program in Cleveland, served as chaplain at the Cleveland Clinic Hospital, and as a life cycle celebrate and registered wedding officiant.

  הסיפור שלי

  מירית בלקן, אמא ל -3, הגיעה לקליבלנד לפני עשור מישראל. מירית מוסמכת ללמד עברית לפי “בשביל העיברית” ומלמדת עברית בבית הספר @Akiva. היא מביאה איתה ניסיון של למעלה מעשרים שנה בהנחיית קבוצות עם מומחיות בתחום ניהול קונפליקטים וישובם. עבדה במרכז יצחק רבין ובמרכז גילה לחברה אזרחית ודמוקרטיה בישראל, ושימשה כמנהלת תוכניות ישראל בפדרציה היהודית בקליבלנד.

  שימשה כמנטורית ומנחה את תוכנית המנהיגות הקהילתית Gvanim של IAC.

  Chaplian – מלווה רוחנית בבית החולים קליבלנד קליניק, עורכת טקסים מקצועית ומחתנת רשומה במדינת אוהיו.
