Leora Raikin is the Executive Director and Founder of the David Labkovski Project. As the artist’s great-niece, she has the connection and understanding of Labkovski as a person and an artist. Leora has assumed the responsibility of carrying on her uncle’s work through the creation of the DLP. She works tirelessly using her great-uncle’s artwork to engage, enrich, educate, and empower audiences and students through lectures and workshops. Leora has been a keynote speaker at numerous schools, synagogues, and organizations including Chapman University Rogers Center Holocaust Commemoration Program, the United States Military Academy at West Point, the Johannesburg Holocaust Museum, and the Genocide Center and the Holocaust Museum in Los Angeles. Leora has a master’s degree from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. She and her husband have a son and a new puppy, Whisky.
