    My Story

    Jonathan Emanuel has been an educator and program provider for over 2 decades, working in both formal and informal settings, Jewish and secular. He has served as a Camp Director, Program Director and has created a number of leadership programs for teens and young Jewish leaders. He has a BA in Sociology from UC Santa Cruz, spent time studying text and mysticism at Yeshivat Shalom Rav in Tsfat, Israel, and is completing his Master’s Degree in Jewish Education from Gratz College in Philadelphia, PA. He has served as the Director of Teen Services for the Jewish Federation of the Greater East Bay, supervising programming and educational resources for a program serving over 1000 Jewish teens. Mr. Emanuel served as the Director of Youth Education and Family Education at Congregation Kol Shofar in Tiburon, CA, and currently teaches Jewish Studies to the Middle School at Brandeis Marin Day School in San Rafael, CA.

    ג’ונתן עמנואל הוא מחנך ומרצה מזה למעלה משני עשורים, במסגרות פורמלית וא-פרומליות בסביבה יהודית וחילונית. הוא כיהן כמנהל מחנה קיץ, ויצר תוכניות מנהיגות לבני נוער ולמנהיגים יהודיים צעירים.
    הוא בעל תואר ראשון בסוציולוגיה מאוניברסיטת סנטה קרוז, למד מיסטיקה בישיבת שלום בצפת, ישראל, וכרגע משלים את התואר השני שלו בחינוך יהודי ממכללת גרץ בפילדלפיה. ג’ונתן שימש כמנהל שירותי הנוער של ההסתדרות היהודית של אזור המפרץ בקליפורניה, ופיקח על התכנים הלימודיים בתוכנית המשרתת למעלה מ-1000 בני נוער יהודים. הוא כיהן כמנהל החינוכי בעמותת קול שופר וכרגע עובד כמחנך בבית ספר יהודי.
