Integrating Art into the Curriculum

This 3-session professional development course is curated especially for teachers/educators who are curious and love to add art into their curricula or specific projects.

The teacher will share her approach to art education and offer ideas to encourage creativity and self-expression through hands-on art-making. We will discuss art education from the perspective of Israel education, get inspired by methods and works of Israeli artists, and touch on themes such as places in Israel and Jewish holidays. We will learn new skills and methods in enriching our student’s curriculum through arts and culture and engage in creating units and themes and integrating art into them.

Participants will experiment with painting from imagination and observation, exploring color, and experimenting with mixed media art. In the last session, each participant will get to brainstorm and design an art assignment fitting their curriculum to enrich the curriculum and students’ experience.

Session 1 – encouraging creativity.
Session 2 – locations/places in Israel and promoting self-expression.
Session 3 – designing an art assignment.
